Switching of macroscopic molecular recognition selectivity using a mixed solvent system

We prepared a pyrenyl gel (Py-gel) and investigated its interaction with gels possessing CD moieties (αCD-gel, βCD-gel and γCD-gel), using a mixed solvent of water and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). The selectivity of Py-gel can be switched by varying the volume fraction of DMSO in the mixed solvent system (xDMSO).
