Apparatus 1

Arrangement of an Isoperibol Titration Calorimeter for 1P-Probing Methodology

1-Propanol(1P)-Probing Methodology is a method to elucidate chemical properties of ions in aqueous solution by titration calorimetry. We modified a commercial isoperibol calorimeter Thermometric LKB8700 to a titration calorimeter for this methodology. Using this apparatus, we measured excess partial molar enthalpies of 1P HE1P = ∂HE/∂n1P for binary 1P – H2O and calculated its concentration derivatives HE1P–1P= N(∂HE1P/∂n1P) = (1-x1P)(∂HE1P/∂x1P). We obtained better data of HE1P than the previous data by Koga.
