Effect of Sodium Citrate on Water by 1P-Probing Methodology
We modified an isoperibol calorimeter (Thermometric LKB8700) to a titration calorimeter for 1P-Probing methodology and applied it to sodium citrate aqueous solution. The results showed that citrate acts as a hydration center with the hydration number of citrate as 11.2. In addition, the hydrogen bond probability of bulk water away from hydration shells seems to decrease on increasing 1P.
