A catastrophic earthquake rocked Tohoku Region Pacific Coast on March 11, 2011. Many people were killed by Tsunami and we still have serious problems in Nuclear Power Plants in Fukushima. Some of the Conferences, either international or domestic, and the Meetings planned in this year have been cancelled because of the calamity. We hope, however, that we Japanese can somehow overcome the tragedy soon. Here, we report our research activities in this year.
The member of the Steering Committee for our Center consists of Professors Koichi Fukase (natural product chemistry), Toshiaki Munakata (surface chemistry), Yasuhiro Nakazawa (solid state physical chemistry), Yoshichika Onuki (solid state physics), Takahiro Sato (macromolecular assemblies), Atsushi Shinohara (radiochemistry), Haruhiko Takisawa (biological nuclear function), and myself (structural thermodynamics).
