About Kasamatsu Lab.

Introduction

The main researches we have been working on is " Production and Chemistry of New Species: Superheavy Elements and Exotic Atoms ". We welcome young scientists and students to the new fields of chemistry.

1. Studies on the nuclear and chemical properties of (super)heavy elements, and methodological development in single-atom chemistry

2. Chemical effects of nuclear decay -Interaction between nucleus and orbital electrons-

3. Chemical studies on the radioisotopes for nuclear medicine

Laboratory

  • F-building and G-building
  • All the research activities including seminars, meetings, experiments with non-radioactive isotopes are performed.

  • This building is used mainly for radiation measurements.

  • Progress reports of all the researches in the lab. and some announcements are given every Monday morning. [chair: Kaneko]

  • Reading circle
  • Academic papers are explained by a person in change and discussion is extended on scientific significance of the papers. [chair: Nagata]

  • Seminars are held every month for discussing research results presented by each member. [chair: Kasamatsu]

  • Each of the research group has group meetings regularly.
