Research Interests

  1. Synthesis and structural characterization of cyclic multinuclear metal complexes containing nucleobases.
  2. Molecular design of functional metal complexes.
  3. Chiral recognition of metal complexes.

Metal elements from groups 3–12 are called transition metal ions. They contain d electrons and display tremendous variety in their oxidation number, color, catalytic abilities, and magnetism. Because the coordination number may vary for a given metal ion, a variety of structures may be adopted by each metal center. We focus on the synthesis and characterization of new metal complexes with high numbers of ligands.
