Research Interests
- Synthesis and structural characterization of cyclic multinuclear metal complexes containing nucleobases.
- Molecular design of functional metal complexes.
- Chiral recognition of metal complexes.
Metal elements from groups 3–12 are called transition metal ions. They contain d electrons and display tremendous variety in their oxidation number, color, catalytic abilities, and magnetism. Because the coordination number may vary for a given metal ion, a variety of structures may be adopted by each metal center. We focus on the synthesis and characterization of new metal complexes with high numbers of ligands.
