Research Topics

  1. Molecular design and synthesis of small molecules that bind to DNA and RNA.
  2. Photoresponsive molecules regulate interactions with nucleic acids and proteins.
  3. Investigations of functional RNAs from human genome libraries.
  4. DNA nanotechnology based on accurate synthetic organic chemistry.

Using accurate synthetic organic chemistry techniques and exploiting the organic chemistry of nucleic acids, our research is focused on the chemical biology of molecules that regulate gene expression and on the nanoscience and nanotechnology of manipulating DNA. These studies pursue development of new technologies and introduce new techniques in this era of genome science. To these ends, we have set very challenging research goals. We integrate the two perspectives of synthetic chemistry and molecular biology to launch creative projects in the field of genomics.
