Admission information
Master’s and Ph.D. Programs (SISC Course)
The Graduate School of Science at The University of Osaka offers Master’s and Ph.D. programs taught in English through the Special Integrated Science Course (SISC) .
Before applying to SISC, prospective students who wish to join our laboratory must first submit their application documents to the Admissions Assistance Desk (AAD) . Submission through AAD does not imply approval by the prospective supervisor or guarantee admission to our laboratory.
The submitted documents will be reviewed by our laboratory. Only applicants selected after this review will be contacted regarding the next stage, which may include an online interview and instructions for the SISC application.
Applicants from various fields of chemistry are welcome. Previous research experience in coordination chemistry is not mandatory. However, applicants must have a strong and genuine interest in learning coordination chemistry and conducting research in molecular inorganic chemistry.

MEXT Scholarship through University Recommendation
Eligibility for nomination for the MEXT Scholarship through University Recommendation is determined by the Graduate School of Science only after the entrance examination and interview. Selection is highly competitive and is based on the applicant’s academic performance, research achievements, entrance examination results, and interview.
Our laboratory cannot guarantee nomination for, or selection for, the MEXT Scholarship at any stage of the application process.
Admission to our laboratory and nomination for the MEXT Scholarship are separate matters. We consider applications only from candidates who have a firm intention to enroll in the graduate program regardless of the scholarship outcome and who have considered a realistic alternative financial plan.
Applicants who intend to enroll only if they are awarded the MEXT Scholarship through University Recommendation cannot be considered for admission to our laboratory.
Applicants who do not plan to enroll if they are unsuccessful in obtaining the MEXT Scholarship should not submit an AAD application naming Prof. Yoshinari as their prospective supervisor.
Internship
We welcome internship students with a keen interest in coordination chemistry. To apply, please email Prof. Yoshinari and include your current supervisor in the CC field.
Postdoctoral Fellowship
We currently have no internal financial support for postdoctoral fellows or researchers. However, we may accept researchers who have their own grant support or who plan to apply for a JSPS fellowship.
Since our laboratory can accommodate only a limited number of members and fellowship selection is highly competitive, only outstanding candidates can be considered. Prospective applicants should contact Prof. Yoshinari with a CV, publication list, brief research proposal, and information on their intended funding scheme.
