Our lab focuses on the assembly of intricate metal complexes with novel and specific functionalities through the metalloligand approach. Learn more about our current research topics through the links below.

Design and Development of Conceptually Novel Ionic Solids with New Functionalities via Coordination Molecular Technology

This study explores the rational synthesis of new class of ionic solids by combining fundamental coordination chemistry and molecular technology−‘Coordination Molecular Technology’. Notably, using this approach, we synthesized Non-Coulombic Ionic Solids (NCIS), where non-Coulombic predominate and govern the spatial arrangement of cations and anions.

Development of Superionic Conduction Framework based on Hydrated Potassium Ions

We discovered a supramolecular multinuclear complex framework (K-NCIS) showing superionic conduction in which hydrated potassium ions serve as the charge carrier species. We are currently conducting research on all-solid-state potassium batteries utilizing this material as an electrolyte, as well as solid-state reactions that employ it as a reaction medium.

Metalloligand protected Metal Sulfide Clusters

We reported the first metalloligand protected silver sulfide nanoclusters which is soluble in water. This silver sulfide nanocluster undergoes facile metal exchange reaction in water, yielding mixed-metal sulfide nanocluster.

Development and Property Investigation of Metal Complexes containing Polythiol ligand

We are interested in the development of metal complexes coordinated by polythiol ligands. Compared to their monothiol ligand containing analogoue, they are expected to demonstrate greater stability and more diverse photoluminescence behaviour.
